History & geography
FISTF is very happy to wish a warm welcome to the newly-born LBS (Liga Brasileira de Subbuteo). The new association has plans to develop the game in Brazil and in the State of Rio in particular. The Sports Director of the association, Mr Marcelo Coutinho e Santos, reports that plans are under way to introduce the game with the help Vasco da Gama and Bangu, two of the most important football clubs of the country: "Our main objective is to bring the FISTF World Championship to Rio de Janeiro in 2014, in parallel with the FIFA World Cup."

The game will be introduced with the help of the players of another table football game called "button game", which is very popular in Brazil. 16 athletes from 3 different clubs have already started working on the development of the game but no date has been decided yet for the first tournament.
